Total Dictation

Total Dictation is the annual educational event, or flash mob, in which anyone can check their own literacy and knowledge of the Russian language for free.

At the same time, in hundreds of Russian cities, thousands of people sit at desks in order to show themselves and to the world that it is great to write correctly. The ability to use punctuation properly is a quality of a modern, successful and smart person in the world.

Famous authors write texts for Total Dictation, such as: Guzel Yahina (2018), Leonid Yuzefovich (2017), Andrey Usachev (2016), Evgeny Vodolazkin (2015), Alexey Ivanov (2014), Dina Rubina (2013), Zakhar Prilepin (2012), Dmitry Bykov (2011), Boris Strugatsky (2010) etc.

Guzel Yakhina is a Russian writer and the author of the text for the Total Dictation-2018. She was born in Kazan in 1977. She graduated from the Kazan State Pedagogical University and the Moscow School of Cinema. She has won the awards of the Big Book, Yasnaya Polyana and the Book of the Year.

Saratov has been participating in the Total Dictation for seven years. The Boarding Lyceum of Natural Sciences (LIEN, Sovetskaya street, 60) is one of the leading, traditional venues for this event.

The dictation will take place on Saturday, April 14, at 15:00. Registration of participants begins at 14:00. Before the dictation organizers also provide free preparatory classes for those who want to “refresh” school knowledge.

The results of the Total Dictation are strictly confidential and will be available on the official website only for the participants. So, your assessment results will only be accessible to you.
